The Fastest Gravity Powered Race in the Northeast!

The Kornguth’s 8th Annual Soapbox Derby will be returning once again to the Exit 1 Industrial Park in Brattleboro, this summer 2017! Email us to register and enter this year’s race!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Build Party on July 16th!

The Kornguth’s 8th Annual Soapbox Derby will be barreling through Brattleboro, VT once again on Sunday, August 27th with all the same gravity, and none of the gravitas.

Each gravity powered car is a unique expression of individuality, combining engineering daring-do with creative vision.

We have some amazing bands blowing up the stage this year. Carton (from Windsor, VT) will be headlining. Also from Windsor, VT Faux In Love will rock you through intermission. And for the Star Wars fans, there will be a light saber combat demonstration to stir your midichlorians.

Opening ceremonies commence at 12:00 Noon with the National Anthem sung by Brattleboro’s own Danielle Sessler.

Once again we will be racing down John Seitz Drive, otherwise known as the Exit One Industrial Park, located just south of Interstate 91 on Rt 5.

As you build your car, keep our motto close to heart, “Don’t rip yourself a new one.”

Inspired by both Dale Earnhardt and Salvador Dali, this event has been described as “NASCAR for Artists” and is sure to please anyone with a heartbeat. If you like local bands, local art, or thrills chills & spills in general, you’ll love The Kornguth’s Soap Box Derby.

So bring the family, bring a date, bring a camera… or bring your own fanciful gravity-powered speed machine! Find the Entry Form and Rules above, and we’ll see you on race day!
